Sailing And A Flying Jetpack! Sayyy Whaaa?

Daniel and I finally took a sailing class! We can now officially sail (somewhat) on our own! Yay! Here are some pictures of our 5 week class and all the fun things we learned. I can proudly say that we never capsized and we kept the yelling at eachother to a healthy minimal level. Ha-ha.

B-"No that's not how you do it!"
D-"Yes it is!"
B-"We're gonna tip!"
D-"Chilax "
B-"Arrrghhhh!"

but seriously, we had a blast.
and
Ahem...we were the best in the class.

One of our many yachts...ha-ha

We sailed by this this guy that was wearing some kind of water jet suit! Blew my mind...
I researched it later and found out it's called a Jetlev Jetpack.

That was fun. What shall we try next Dan?
Love you.

Bonfire

Danny and I went to a beach bonfire the other night -- One of our friends was celebrating his acceptance into grad school and the thumbs up for his thesis proposal. Too cool Nathan. We are so proud of you.
P.S. This picture was not photoshopped...the sunset was actually this fabulous!

Adventures With Food Trucks

We finally made our way over to the food truck gathering last Wednesday! Dan and I ate at The Burnt Truck, The Grilled Cheese Truck and Chunk N Chip. It was all A+ food, a fun time and definitely something I would recommend.

The Burnt Truck

Cheeseburger
Angus beef, American cheese, grilled onions, avocado spread
Fried Chicken
Buttermilk fried chicken, garlic potato spread, country gravy
Fried Bologna
Garlic aioli, mustard, crispy onion strings
Spam and Eggs
Soy aioli, fried quail egg, nori strips

I was skeptical about the spam and quail egg, but I'm glad we got it! It turned out to be one of my favorites!
The Grilled Cheese Truck
Dan ordered an American cheese on white bread with caramelized onions; I ordered gruyere cheese and fresh basil on white bread.
Chunk N Chip
We split a Blu-Laventine. Snicker doodle cookies with blueberry lavender ice cream.

Kogi

Our friend Peter had the fabulous idea of getting dinner at the Kogi truck last night!
The Kogi truck is a traveling Los Angeles landmark that serves up Korean / Mexican inspired food such as their Spicy Pork Tacos, Kimchi Quesadillas and Short Rib Sliders. Quality Korean barbecue meets traditional, homemade tortillas and fresh veggies to create a taste that carries the rhythms of LA street culture.
Most recently the Kogi family has opened up its first sit-down restaurant, Chego, in Palms.
Kogi is so delicious and the price is extremely reasonable! Big fan!
We got a spicy pork taco, short rib burrito, blackjack quesadilla  and a Chocolate tres leches cake for dessert.  YUM!!!! It was all good!
We then walked over to the park and caught the tail-end of Monsters Inc. on a big outdoor screen. It was a fun night! Thanks for the great idea Peter!

Fashion: Chloé Resort 2012

Clare Waight Keller is the new creative director for Chloé Resort 2012. Flouncy Parisian dresses and wide-legged pants will have a chic SoCal twist.  Here are a few looks that I liked from the  Chloé Resort 2012 line. What do you think?
